You make heat pipe by converting a section of pipe (either forming, or formed with a manually set life higher than 1) with a single px of heac directly touching it.

Gel can pass neutrons and can be useful as cooling system but without pipes in reactor "pipe grab everthing", and Gel is a best functional cooling liquid, Deut and Merc also good but changes volume at temperature and have more heavy than Gel
