    Space Based Solar Farms are slowly becoming a thing. Every new technology brings new opportunities. Specialised space stations would send concentrated solar beams from space back to the Earth. Some scientists suggest using thouse beams destroy dangerous hurricanes by altering their wind patterns.

    AerospaceFan: Multiple Alien solar systems will need to be destroyed in the process. But I don't think politicians of the future will care how many systems it takes to prolong the Earth. Out of all species on this planet, only we are in a position to do something.

    I should mention that it is theoretically possible (no scientific theory is against it) to inject fresh helium into our star to prelong its life span. How to do it, though, is another matter entirely.
