    the top edge does curl back a little, it needs the "wavy marks" from the smithing process (cant remember real term) and yes, the handle is way to short. it should be at least hand and a half, or two hand

    Agreed with termonuclear, but katana also has longer ( maybe about three times yours) hilp with smaller guard and less angled blade's upper edge. This is more likely to be ninjato or a long vakizasi.
