 my tpt is the latest version(86.1) and is installed but still clicking open just opens an empty tpt window. help?

im trying to build something, but it depends on the piston letting go of everything it grabs. any ideas as to how i can work around this?

(fyi its gonna be a cross section of a battleships main guns showing the ammo-loading process. i want it to actually move the items, not just pretend to do it.)

what is piston used for anyways?
