New Elements

Changing fire mechanism could be good idea. Wood and plant should burn slower and produce smoke and ash.
Smoke could affect the fire to spread more harder, ash will be like non-burning dust.
Wax, oil and gas should produce no smoke just steam when burning. It will made fire more realistic and left something from burned things, now burned things just transform into fire and it's not realistic.

I don't know if it's cool to quote you self, especially on the same thread, But i think this needs repeating:

    kamikai:
I'm all for innovative, functional and useful new elements, however i think many PT users on this forum need to step away from the computer, take a deep breath and stop imagining silly elements that they need for the designs that they can see working in their head.

Ideas like heavy hydrogen, a sodium-potassium alloy, ceramic, sulfur and Lucite I think are just pointless. Users should figure out how to use the powder toy with whats currently there. 70ish elements (including walls) i think is plenty enough. And only when someone has an idea for an element that would actually benefit other users in a practical way, and not just a one off creation of your own that requires slightly tweaked physics for a current element should they then post a reply that states what the elements purpose is and how it will react with the simulator on the forum.

Just think of poor Simon (and possibly others) who put this forum here to get ideas that could help improve this project, and who now have to read through pages of crap to find the few rare ideas that can actually help them to make a better simulator for us.

Some things have changed since page four of this thread, the PT has definitely got more that 70 elements now, I haven't seen the sulfur idea in a while and other programers are definitely reading it to get ideas (although maybe they didn't put the forum here...)

I am not meaning to troll, moderate or hijack this thread, nor do I think that my most recent post broke any of the guidelines that you set down on the last page. Ad and Lockheed made their appreciation shown from the first time I posted it (page 4) and Simon himself has quoted the whole paragraph as well (page 6). So if that post does break any forum regulations, delete it by all means, just keep in mind that it is merely there to help direct this thread and show my distaste at some of the ideas previously listed.

However I do note that this post is somewhat off topic, and I apologize for breaking the rules here.

Oh s**t, sorry. Just your a mod, and giving me the link to forum rules after a post of mine that was not entirely on topic made you seem as if you didn't agree with it. Sorry if i sounded derogatory to you, thought your post was a warning to me to shut my mouth after the post with the supererogatory vocabulary...
