Grav bomb

Im aware that the gravity pump is already in the makings but what about a gravity bomb?

It would be a simple element that when lit/sparked/ignited would set a short "burst" of strong gravity

That's actually a really cool idea. All our bombs make pressure, why not have one that makes gravity?

But what would it be activated by? Pressure? Temp? Fire? Spark?

i was thinking temp, fire, and spark, but i mean it COULD be triggered by something like perhaps it only detonates when under a stronger than normal gravity field :P

but some1 might be able to code it so it can be set, much like clne type elements where if you set an element to it in debug mode then it only detonates when in contact with that particle, otherwise it just goes to a defualt

Gravity explosive?! I like that idea!

Sounds like a very great idea! But.....Gravity doesn't move unless there is more of the gravity source.

Or you do you mean like a particle like photon hits the bomb and that bomb dissapears leaving gravity for a little while? which bounces the photon to another?

Or the bomb explodes moving gravity?

i was thinking either a solid/powder/ or possibly liquid that when detonated would leave an intense gravity field for a few frames , not long tho

This is only an issue because technically, gravity isn't calculated on every frame, so it would be easy for the bomb to detonate and have no effect at all on the gravity map, in spite of even having code enabling it to do so.

So for it to have ANY effect it would need to last for a good bit of frames

Not necessarily. If there's a large amount of grav material on the screen, it's possible for the update to totally miss a large number of frames.

Gravity map relies on a second core so its calculation doesn't slow down TPT (at least, it did before.)

no i mean the "explosion has to last as long as atleast one update cycle to register
