because there isnt anything to creat a signal like the proprites of redstone

is there a good place to learn how to make mods????????????????? if people dont think that it would be good in the offical tpt then i would like to make it in a mod.
like in the game minecraft if you place a presure plate in front of a door when you walk on the plate the door opens due to the presure plate giving of a signal to the door to open.
