Can an expandable material (mercury) be used for displacement along with it's ability to transfer a spark in an open circuit once it reaches and closes that open circuit on the bottom of the well? I'm highly confused as I can only open saves and such from the website, my computer is still obsolete and in need of replacement so until then I'm confused by this whole competition. Can someone post BuysDB's save without deco so I can analyze it from the website? If I can take a look at the save without deco I can sufficiently determine how his works and maybe [extremely likely] help aid in the design process.

How will you remove mercury from the well?

So there can be no remaining excess materials in the well? Scratch that idea then.

Why not just pressurize the oil, turn it into gas, create low pressure from above, suck up the gas into a collective chamber, then apply low pressure and turn it into oil again, then let gravity do the rest by allowing the oil to flow down into the final containment unit? And pipe is allowed right?

Read the rules, please, before suggesting such kind of things. By rules you can't leave materials in the well (as you've already guessed), you can't create pressure in the well (or it will be too easy) and you can use pipe but if you won't I'll give extra points.

There are 4 days till the end of the contest, so I'd like to post a temporary participant table:

    1. Fast-Driver - 140 points (maximum)
    2. BuysDB - 130 points
    3. jacksonmj - 125 points
    4. cracker64 - 120 points
    5. ssccsscc - 115 points
    6. Simon - 95 points

You still can take part in this contest, and you can improve your creation also, so there are chances that somebody will share the first place with Fast-Driver :-P

Water remains in the well, but it must be empty.
