Yeah optimization mods are totally fine. I don't think any server has a problem with those. I recommend fabric+sodium (and not optifine, sodium is better).

I don't exactly like fullbright ... but there's easy ways to do it, like shader packs, so I guess I'd say if you have shaders that make seeing in caves easier, I don't have a problem with it.

We had a poll on Discord about when the reset the server next. It's a big conundrum, because I only reset for major version updates, but Mojang hasn't done a new major update in ages. Instead it's only smaller drops. So anyway, we decided to reset for the Mounts of Mayhem game drop in December.

Reset for 1.21.9 [Mid-September to Mid-October]

Wait for a future 1.21.x version [Dec 2025 to Feb 2026]

Based on these results, I decided to take the 2nd option. Now that Minecraft Live is over, we have confirmation the next update will be this year, likely in December. So that's when I will reset the server again. This is the most active and longest-lasting iteration ever, but I think it's time to start over with a new iteration.

Not sure what that launcher is, and it seems like it was taken down by Mojang. As long as you play on Java edition you can play on the server though. If you don't own the game you just need to DM me to ask to be whitelisted.
