Element Name:HBHL
Description:Hawking's Black Hole.Slows time down.
Use:It creates something somewhat like newtonian gravity. But when particles(meaning powders, liquids and gasses) are n pixels to it,it has a 1/n chance to skip an update. For example,a dust particle diagonal to it has approximately 2/3 chance to do nothing(just like in a stasis wall).(To prevent it from affecting the whole screen, you can make it inaffective when the distance is greater than its tmp)
To prevent particles next to HBHL from freezing forever(since the chance is 1/1),you can make it delete all particles next to it(also useful at getting rid of solids without absorb wall)
Or if you say it is just a copy to newtonian gravity, you can just add a button in settings,enabling/disabling it.
It will not be able to be pushed by pistons.
@Tadpole1 (View Post), that's an interesting element but I don't think mods are ready to program timebending elements. Might be too advanced for their comprehension
. I may be wrong, idk
.
Although I have not confirmed, it might be possible to create a Lua script that just places and removes stasis wall in a particular area around the modded element. Stasis wall would not be placed directly on top of that pixel, just around it (in a certain radius, perhaps). It would a highly imperfect solution (problems with SPRK, other types of walls, lower resolution of wall vs parts, lag), but it has the potential to gauge the usefulness of HBHL.
I'm curious if anybody has already created a Lua script with elements that place walls around/near them. I know that SMDB from the fan elements mod removes some types of walls.
Sorry @ALumpOfPowderToy (View Post), I meant "devs" of TPT
, not mods! I still dont think they would be able to create a time-bending element. It would require an expert to do this. But again, I could be wrong
.
You do realize that the same people who make mods for TPT also develop it... right?
TPT is an open source game.
(Edit for clarity: No, this doesn't mean that all TPT mods will be implemented. It means that the same people who make mods can also make changes to the game, since everyone can)
@ALumpOfPowderToy (View Post), That may be true but that doesn't always mean the TPT mods shape the official tpt. Take a look at Cracker1000's mod. This was created from a regular tpt member and around 2 out of 50+ added elements are becoming official TPT elements. However, there are plenty of other mods that wont shape the Official TPT game such as, SpikeViper's Biology mod. Who would want blood as an element when we could just deco the water red. The point is: people may make TPT mods but that takes little to no effect on developing the official TPT on average.
I never said that mods shape TPT.
@ALumpOfPowderToy (View Post), read the bold sentence.
I never brought up this element being implemented in the real game; in fact, I voted against it. I only stated that C++ mods would be able to implement time-bending, to which you responded that the devs wouldn't be able to create a time-bending element. Naturally, in an open-source game, the mod devs ARE the game devs.
You took this the wrong way and thought that I said the element would be implemented. I only said that it was possible.
