Antimatter in the real world changes everything it touches into energy, but in the game, it only changes it into... a few photons? It's gamma radiation, but its only a small amount unless the powder toy is on a microscopic scale. I want the reaction to be extremely fiolent releasing multiple energy particles, since antimatter changes everything into pure energy.
I remember seeing a C++ mod (perhaps The Realistic Physics Mod) where AMTR would produce loads of energetic gamma rays, making it great for starting fusion. There are also some Lua scripts with elements that change everything they touch into hot energy particles. As stock AMTR is so much less realistic than those elements, there has been a running joke that AMTR in stock TPT is more like bees. Look in the comments of this save:
during the 2 years i had an account here, i have never seen anyone say its like bees
why don't they add it to the vanilla game?

My best guess is that the devs don't want a repeat of the FWRK/FIRW situation where they ended up with confusingly similar elements to avoid breaking saves.

That again, would still break saves
Almost every change someone wants to make results in breaking saves; why?

Because if you have a save utilizing a mechanic, and the mechanic changes, no shit it wont work
But this is adding; amtr keeps everything even the ahhinilation property but adding to that it spawns whatever.
