I hate how no matter what I post, this person points out every single thing that's wrong with it. Even when I suggest something that most people say is a great idea, this same person will always say it's useless and gives completely irrelevant reasons for it. I've seen him/her do the same thing to other people as well.
If the troll in question is reading this, you probably know who you are. Please do not post on this thread. This was made to have a feature added to the website, not to insult you.
Anyway, on to the main idea. Obviously I can't just ask the mods to ban anyone I want, so I have to always read what the troll says. I think there should be an option to automatically hide the posts of certain users. If that person says something that seems to be important based on other people's replies to it, you should be able to click on the hidden post to see it.
Essentially, it would work the same way as how banned users' posts are hidden, except you can choose anyone you want and their posts will be hidden by default.
The posts you hide should only be hidden from your own screen, and only while you are logged in. For example, if I chose to block you, then everyone else would still be able to read your posts. If cctvdude99 chose to block my posts, then I would still see them, and so would you.
@DRAGONF0RCE(View Post) You don't have to read something, just don't look at it... Let's say someone is mad and make a couple of bad comments, you see it and 'mute' him, then the next day he makes really good and interesting comments and no one replies to him, well you missed a good and interesting comments. What could be good is a like '-1' button on a comment, and if enough peoples votes it down, it gets hidden ( With the possibily of seeing it, like you said )
If you hate a comment don't look at it. As soon as a mod sees it we'll hide it. Simples. Complicating the forums with these -1 or client sided hiding is just a few more complications. If someone trolls then it's your choice to argue or ignore.
