    Magnesium is generally present as a very light, silvery substance. I don't know where you heard (or saw) that it was ever dark red.

    magnesium wold be great when it flames it gets very bright and takes more energy to set inflame!

    Its been suggested before, and refused iirc. Same with tungsten
