There should be a way to drag stuff like alt click and then move it sure you can copy and paste but this would make it a lot simpler.  Also while moving it you can rotate it via mmb.  I know ctrl-x ctrl-r and ctrl-v but this would help with a lot of things like a city for instance when you want to just move a building not the ground underneath as well or you want to move a gun/laser to the other side of the screen and turn it around as well this would help a lot.
