I have been wanting to work on this issue for a long time. I think it is time to work on it. 

Create a new size standard based upon a 10by 10 square of mercury, all of it being at the same temperature, preferably it's original temperature. Make sure the container is the same temperature too, so there is no deviation from the original temp. Then create little dash marks on the side of the container increasing in increments of 5by5 ( small dashes) and 10by10 pixels. Pre-determine the temperature for each increase; almost like the key to a graph. That's how I would do it. It may or may not work, but hey, it's an idea ;P

P.S.S. I just thought that it would probably work better if you only made the width of the vial 2 pixels or 4pixels, and continue with the later adjustments accordingly to the set width size of the vial :) the increase in mass would slowly decline even if the temperature slowly increased steadily, due to a limited quantity of spawned particles from a single pixel of mercury. It's just something you would have to manually counter in your graphed key/chart of correlating temperatures.

Definitely, same here. Thanks for your time and help, I can't wait to get started on it. I also think that there needs to be a way of evenly distributing the heat throughout the mercury, I don't know why I think that it could be a problem but it just seems like it will be. Cya tomorrow.
