Non-Material Cover

Ok! So ...many times when i wanna draw something ..at least the circuits , because they looks horrible , i must fill the free space. This ( adding element to can paint ) can affect the electronics. It would be verry cool to make cover that you can draw and it is non-material . You put it on somethings and the project is the same , but you can't see it. Sorry for my english...Is verry hard for me to explain all these.

Another advantage : PEOPLE CAN'T SEE WHAT'S UNDER IT  , so they won't discover the mechanism.

Another ideea : There is a button Publish or not ... Make a button Copyalbe or not...This is really important!

This was actually how Decoration mode originally functioned, but coloring individual particles seemed like a better and much more useful option at the time. you could hide large areas of the screen and everything disappeared under your decorated colors.

...And no "copyable" option. There's good reason for why everyone can copy everyone else's work.

Even if we made an option, the game is open source, being unable to copy things would only give people reason to generate mods for the game with no such restriction, which wouldn't be difficult.

That would destroy an awful lot of saves who've taken this feature and put it to good use. That would require making a whole second decorations layer on top of the one we already have. XD

And it's not a bad idea but, why not just paint your wires and stuff you want hidden black? So long as it doesn't generate new particles, and even if it does, there are methods of painting particles in real time. Though I guess it's still not the same. =/

I can , but i wanna make it public and i wanna keep secret the mechanism. I think this can also keep players on more time . They will see others creations and they will wanna know how are they doing , so they will test a lot of things , or a hacker will copy them :))

Hiding stuff using material like this would be too easy to unhide. =/ And making it more difficult to copy things wouldn't make it any more entertaining for anyone xD

to make it actually look like the "secret" mechanism is actually part of the save, decorate some textures onto it, so it's not all black, but instead, blends in.

I recall that someone did create a way to add a self destruct mechanism that will destroy the save it a piece of hidden circuitry was not added.

I think he meant one of those:
    1. Make decoration option be able to color empty spaces too.
    2. Make a material that is colorable and doesn't reacts with anything or shows as a material when you are checking what material is.
I think first will be easier to do.
