thats actually not a bad idea

and recently we came across an effect of oil

if you heat it in something like a container of wall than it generates pressure, A LOT of pressure

heres a quick "shell" i made using oil to generate pressure

you would need to make a system to reload and heat the oil though

well its not the walls that do it its just the walls dont let the oil go anywhere and they keep in the pressure so its more a method of convience

and ive only looked into it a little but while trying to create something that could reload and reheat the oil i ran into alot of issues of it igniting instead of just heating so you will have to play around with that though

and you COULD make a system to retrieve the oil but it would be tricky seperating it from the projectile AND it likes to combust as it is released from whatever confines it

EDIT: huh i looked at my save and it appears when saving it keeps the temps but NOT the pressures from when i saved

so just add a LITTLE bit of air to the oil and it will start its pressure generating"cycle"

it appears though that if there is NO pressure and high temp it combuists but if theres is SOME pressure and high temp it creates more pressure

Sorry, my internet has been out since my last post,

BUT i DID make some progress

first you CAN just heat BUT you have to heat it slowly until it vaporizes THEN goes from gas BACK to oil ( when it vaporizes the gas makes pressure and then the pressure forces it back into oil )

second IF you use a combination of the normal wall, air only wall, and e wall you can create a pressure burst
thats because as the walls dont conduct heat the oil STAYS hot AND keeps generating pressure

that effect allows a sort of pressure burst "generator"

i began creating a semi automatic paintball gun with that effect but it still has many bugs

i havent done much with seeing what i could do with boyl  yet however

and theres a large storm going on so my power keeps going out and that makes testing difficult XD

    OK

this is what i have so far

the button on the back pressurizes it, it only has to be pressed once BUT you need to pressurize before you can shoot

you may have to reload while paused because if the oil isnt VERY cold when you pressurize it will likely combust, the heating system just needs to be refined,

the reloading needs refinement as my "dead-mans" switch component that is vital to the reloading system has a tendancy to  "skip" , just spark the trigger again if this happens

also in the thumbnail the walls across it arnt actually there, that was a mishap with the sign/wall glitch plagueing the newer versions, just ignore them i would need to rebuild A LOT of the save to remove them

i havent tried anything with boyl yet i was planning on seeing what i could do with it next

    EDIT:

Redesigned the heating mech to work A LOT better now it works with oil at the generic 22 degrees WITHOUT combustion
takes a few more seconds to pressurize but still

same operation though, button on back then trigger

I have made a proof-of-concept prototype that uses a CLNE-LIGH heating system to heat up BOYL while it's velocity is increased by ACEL to propel burning FSEP, I will work on a more controlled mechanism later.

This is now starting to resemble that pressureless-propulsion thread XD

yea i was kind of trying to avoid using acel as to not repeat that thread XD
