I think Saves should have a Tags Menu where Users can choose the main Category that their save will be categorized by. It will be a Pull Down System like the one that the Prop Tool uses.
The Tags Menu will have 1 Main Tag & 9 Other Tags.
The Front Page will have a Pull down menu with Predetermined Tags in it (Admins can change tags based on how Standard they are). The Predetermined Tags are used to sort the Save Pages by Main Tags. The Popular Tags menu can stay like it is & are used to sort saves by MATCHING Other Tags.
I think this system will be more useful than the current system just because of the fact that when you click a tag or type one in, it will give you every save with that tag, even if its not related to the tag.
Main Tags Example List: Bombs Electronics Guns Art Cities Illusions Engines Scale Vehicals (Vehical Layouts/Cross Sections) Scenes Reactors Custom SharedProjects (Projects with Many Users) UserHomePages Groups
I think a thread was made a few months ago talking about an advanced categorization system, to take the place of the flawed tags that we already use. I'm a for your idea, except some of your specific categories. They could use improvement, and how would we (from the mods stand point) organize which saves go where? We couldn't let all the nooby users place their saves in the wrong categories themselves, it just wouldn't work that way very well. Some of your categories are too general anyways, illusions? Scenes? Customs? They don't make very much sense. Look up the older thread, which I can bet you took the idea from, and look at the categories listed there. It may help you in understanding how and why listed categories need to stay vauge yet very descriptive, maximizing success in the official version, possibly.
No. :P As cool as this sounds, it would require a human or twenty behind the scenes to make sure people don't put their stuff in the wrong category. Not that people can't do this with tags already, anyhow.
