Soap Struts

I am going to build a city... and I have an issue.

I want to make some 1px thick struts, but I don't want anything to collide with them. I was thinking I could use a set of soap strings, or struts, but I'm not sure how to implement this (9px of solid around one end or something, holding it in place, then "connecting" it to a similarly restrained soap particle.

is there a way to connect two soap particles via console? or do I have to Copy & Paste?

    any ideas would be helpful.

(any good diagrams for geothermal powerplants would also be appreciated)

We have a problem. I think I understand what you mean but more often than not, the joins between soap seem to reset beifly when you reload a simulation. So if you held them in place and then re-loaded or opened the save, they would fall off. I don't know if this applies to doing it with the console however

    Nope.

You can set the life of all of them to 65535, set tmp of first to id of second, tmp of second to id of third, etc...

wait, so shift the tmp's of each one down one? will two with the same tmp connect?

If you don't mind the struts glowing, perhaps use photons instead? Set life to 0 so that they don't disappear, and set velocity to zero.

oh, that's a good one. thanks for the idea!

actually, maybe they could be electrons, because the glow less and they could be power cables!
