Please explain how piston ships work?

     I have.

    From what I can see, a piston pushes forward and another one pulls that one back. But I cant figure out how to replicate it.

    Help?

    then can you explain how to make one that ISNT from a gun?

    Just use one already made and dont fuss over it. Either that or just look at one and replicate it extreamly similarly to where it still works but is still your own design.
