Commenting/Voting

Why don't people ever tell you why they vote your save down? I ask for suggestions for my saves because they are usually quite fiddly and quite a lot could go wrong with them - but I never really get any. The only people who suggest things are those who vote up which is great but it would be lovely if the people voting down had to tell you why they did it - just wanted to know what everone thinks.

    Thanks.

People usually see a save, decide they don't like it, down vote, and move on. A lot of people don't even bother with looking at comments, or even the description of the save.

I suppose, but I have never really posted anything diviseve, just a few reactors and refineries- and I signpost in the actual save that comments are welcome rather than just the description.

By the way although I may not be a US citizen I would like to add that I have great respect for the work you and all of the servicepersons of the UK and its allies do to help defend us come what may.

@JamesB, Just remember that in an online community of over 100,000 users, there are bound to be quite a few trolls. People will just randomly dislike, steal, curse, etc. just for the sake of doing so. The report system gets a lot done and the mods do really well, but there are going to be people that slip by, especially ones who just downvote since you don't know who it is. Soo yeah that's my opinion. I in general don't downvote at all unless its for a reason other than the quality of the save (copied etc.). I find telling the person what is buggy/could be improved and preferably making it for them much more effective.

That is always going to be a problem, it is a shame that the plague of E-trolls affects even the most benign of shared creative repositories. I have not had a copy problem yet, and sometimes I encourage people to steal a part to fix something in their model, but I do see your point.

Thank you very much. I looked up your saves and they are very detailed. I never had much of a talent for drawing- any chance you could do a post Franco- Prussian war map, or maybe one showing the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth at its height?

You are most welcome. I have a relative who worked with the US  in Iraq when he was DCG in the MNC-I. I have a bad memory for names and I have no clue what the second acronym means but I know he was working alot with the US.
