I am currently working on a Missile (a "functioning" one) with an EXOT Warhead and just wanted to know if this has been done before

Probably. We have tons of exploding EXOT saves.

well, its not one where you set the tmp2 high up with commands, thought that it was special

    try creating something like this:

exot does not just have to be used as an explosive itself, it can react to make many other much more nasty things. For example add plut and hit it with neutrons- that will allow you too fiddle with life and tmp to make it reasonably stable until you can put it in pipe stasis in a high pressure environment with 1 sec to go before it transforms.  (or use console to do this with dmg or bomb)

I don't entirely notice how EXOT is particularly 'explosive'. It tells me it explodes from excess exposure to electrons but when I completely showered it with tons of electrons-literally filling the whole screen with it-it casioually turned to rainbows and carried on lying there on its lazy exotic...backside

this is what I came up with, but thanks man, I appreciate any help I can get!

It has to be a long exposure of REALLY dense Electrons.

other than that, try this console command:
    !set tmp2 exot 999999

any exot on screen will demonstrate its explosive potential, trust me.

EXOT doesn't even technically explode, actually. It just dissolves and transforms into super-heated WARP which always produces the maximum amount of pressure and heat possible until it dies.
(It's more effective, it's just not a boom usually as much as a melt-through-everything.)

yeah, I saw the "glorious" first days of the discovery of the Electro-warp weaponry, quite impressive and really useful for starting up a fusion process, but the WARP doesnt die, does it?
so, I cannot filter it out, and can therefor not use a controlled fusion to produce Metal/CO2 and other stuff, since it is just also letting out the highly dangerous WARP

That's sort of the downside of WARP/EXOT explosions - you can't really do anything to contain the warp without finding a way to filter it that isn't affected by WARP's position-toggling mechanic, which is what makes it so effective for destroying things. It simply passes through them one pixel at a time.

WARP is pretty standard, it dies like any other energy particle after its Life count hits zero. ..However, when it toggles places with other particles, its Life value simply never decreases, or increases, whichever (I forget.)

So long as it's not endlessly crowded, it'll eventually die on its own. Should only need a very brief supply of WARP to start a reaction like this, so as long as it's escaping, it's no issue really.
