Well if providing a good source of computer engineering/architecture knowledge on the TPT forum is what you are suggesting and hoping for, I'd be happy to help in terms of providing info on the subject. Me, Synergy, mark2222, LBPHacker and some other folks in the realm of the 'computer' keyword under saves would know a good amount about microprocessor design. But indeed it's a large learning curve.

I'd very much be interested in learning about it.

I would also suggest using Minecraft as a medium as well. I say this because there are hundreds of electronics tutorials for creating computers/computer parts on Minecraft. And you could easily transfer that knowledge over to Powder Toy later on.

I'm in too! But let's not rush things.

Although I find spreading the so called computer architecture knowledge by posts or even articles on this forum possible, I can't imagine doing it without long pages of references and links to external sites dealing with the matter. Well, that's me, I like linking pages if they make sense and I like doing so even more if said pages make more sense than I do. Which is often the case.

Then there's our background; it's not like we learnt everything by reading a book or two. Hell, would we be dead by now. I'll say doing it that way may be possible, but I haven't seen anyone who's done it yet. I'm a 16-year-old student who's spent every afternoon in the past six years (or something around that in total) messing with programming languages and computers in general. Schmolen mentions "grade 12 engineering" in a post of his, so something tells me he's been doing this for some time too — most likely way more than I have.

I'm not saying the amount of time since our personal epoch makes us who we are. What I'm saying is that I, personally, needed projects of increasing difficulty to get to where I am now. Such projects don't necessarily fall from the sky every day. I'm just saying it helps to have a ton of time to sit and think.

That aside, I'd still be happy to do a full-scale walkthrough of how I built Ray, so if anyone's interested, just comment here.

I would also be interested in learning Cpu, Ram .etc
I have managed to build basic 4 bit ram which can write & read memory.
But i haven't learned very much about cpus in powder toy.
I know you use logic gates but thats about it.
