I'm trying to build a power plant. I don't care if it's nuclear or coal, but preferably simple. Can anyone give me some pointers?

You can try these two simple ways:

    A: Photoelectric Effect
This is probably the most straightforward. Just zoom in, put a pixel of PSCN next to a pixel of NSCN, and fire some photons at it from the PSCN side. This causes a spark on the PSCN.

    B: "Turbines"
You can use DTEC or detector walls that pretend to be turbines, powering them by say steam produced by heat. And lots of things make heat in TPT. :P

    Heat
You can make heat from pressurized URAN, fissioning PLUT or DEUT, or just by burning coal or oil or gas. There's a lot to go on here :D

You can use particles to store energy by melting.

Don't make a deuterium reactor then call it "Fusion". Instead call it "Deuterium" or "Proton" or "Neutron" reactors respectably, People hate misleading titles, even if it's not much of a stretch. Also Proton reactors are a hit right now.
