    magma can get to 5000 c befor becuming lava when touching water or water vaper it becomes lava 

    at 2500 acts likes clay and gel 

     

    when lava is cooled it becomes obsidon

    ObsidIAn is volcanic glass.  when the lava is mostly molten silica and cools then you get Obsidian.  remember "lava" is a molten mix of various mineral materials.  depending on the makeup, which varies with local gological makeup, the cooled solid will be different.

    @sandwichlizard it depends on the volcano type. While on the subject about volcanos,  you know Yellowstone? Well, the devil's tower is deadlier. It's been plugged for thousands of years, and the magma chamber is the size of 3 football fields.

    Voulcanos on Hawaii island produced lots of obsidian which was used by Hawaian tribes.
