Is there a way to cool something by a certain amount without knowing its initial temperature? e.g. A thingy that cools whatever you put into it by 40C no matter what the original temperature of it was. I'm trying to make an ultra-precise thermometer using this
Hmm... Temperature changing process depends on two things:
Amount of matter/particles (20 hot elements + 2 cold)
Temperature difference between two materials (-50 and +25)
It would be hard. You always need to have the same amount of particles (for example: box 10x10). Then, you need to know the temperature of particles in your box. After that, you need to somehow calculate how much heat or cold you need to change its temp. by 40C. I don't know exacly is this possible. Probably a lot of electronic things is needed. I think it's good idea to use temperature sensor and delay mechanism for cooling down/heating materials. (Don't hate me if I said something wrong.)
