All you need to do is to have a talent and good idea. :v

You should see some graphics from internet to see what's your goal. Also, I don't exacly know. It's very hard to just tell you how to be an artists. :/

I don't do pixel art and don't know how people do it on Powder Toy, but you could look up tutorials or tips on YouTube on how to make pixel art with Photoshop for example, it might give you an idea on how to do it on Powder Toy.

But here is a lazy method I learned somewhere, take this Pokemon image for example:

    image

Load it on Photoshop or any good photo editor and add your own grids manually on it on a separate layer, the smaller the grid, the better the art will be. I made mine a bit big for this demonstration and also used Photoshop to do it:

    image

Fill in the squares of the grid to make an outline around the image and also where the black lines are in the image. I did this in a separate layer:

    image

Fill in the rest of the image and use a colour sampler tool to choose the right colours. I did each body part in separate layers (Legs, Head, Horns, Tail, Body):

    image

Hide the layer with the grids and also the layer with the main image to see the end result (you can keep the grids if you want). Although it might look ugly with blank grids, it's actually useful for the next step:

    image

Have your photo editor and Powder Toy opened at the same time and copy the image over to the game manually pixel by pixel (CGI is not allowed, so you can't use programs to convert the image to a Powder Toy save). The grids are actually helpful in this step to know how many pixels to draw in-game for each part of the image. I didn't do this step because it will take me a long time, but the end result should look something like this:

Hey, that's really smart. I know how people are doing it. Thank you. I've never made a pixel art. I'd prefer to make models and machines.

I recommend using a script to transfer it automatically. The result is identical, and if you get banned, even better.

CGI is not OK under any circumstances, don't upload it to the server even as a private save.
