Why is this plasma unerasable?

    I was in a game and this octagon of plasma seemed to not be erasable. I was able to get rid of it with the console though. Does anyone know why that is?

    It was probably stacked, there was more than one plasma in each spot. Erasing only erases the top particle

    But I moved my cursor over it for more than five times.

    Stacking limits don't apply to plasma, because it often stacks during fusion

    Edit: It's also possible you accidentally put something like spark as your right click element
