no matter how much i heat it up, my laser manages to cool itself down to 900 degrees before it can melt anything. How do i make it stay heated and how to i use filt without the heat from the machine changing its color?

edit: im using pressurized uranium to heat it up and pcln 2 pixels wide for the beam

No this is not related to Ambient heat and @Nuclear fox using it won't help but further cool down the laser.

The problem is that PHOT are spawned at 900°C by default, so even if you heat your laser to temp above 900°C the new PHOT will always cool it down back to 900°C.

Now the solution is to use a mechanism which heats it up way above temperatures that PHOT normally can cool.

Non-static GOL elements are generally best way to heat lasers.

More advanced method  is to use ARAY or temp serialisation using HSWC and FILT.

You can search wiki for permanent coloured FILT (Simple way is to use DTEC).

I can help with the save if you share the save id or just search for lasers and see how other users did it.
