How to convert a mod to a newer version

So, today, I was messing around with the Revamped Unrealistic Science Mod, but, quite obviously, the mod is outdated, limiting access to saves and other features.
I was curious if there was a method to update a mod to a newer version of TPT, as I am not sure if the original mod creator is planning to update the URSM. -
This isn't really possible, unless you are a developer. If you find a recent mod and know how to merge in changes, you could theoretically update it.
I checked the source code for this mod, and can definitely say it's impossible to update that mod. It's way too old (9 years old) and would have to be redone from scratch. You could still use the source code for each element, but TPT was also rewritten from scratch since then, which is why the mod can't be updated past that point.Edited 2 times by jacob1. Okay. Say I wanted to convert over two of the elements to luas, how would I go about that?
