I just think realeasing TPT on other services like Steam would boost the games users. Right now there isn't that many new users as shown in this chart:
So if any developers of TPT see this can you tell me?
The Powder Toy is entirely run by volunteers and does not aim to turn any sort of profit. We aren't even a legal organization/entity so most contracts between third-parties are personally guaranteed. Therefor it's natural we do not and cannot focus on expansion in most cases. There's not enough staffing to facilitate such efforts nor overall capital to support growth at what would be considered an industry average. There's a lot of development backlog (website revamp) that we'd like to clear too.
As for anything outside of Steam, it's difficult to say where we'd be able to release onto. We're mostly on Android and PC because those don't require too much modification and there's no license conflicts.
We have had ideas on releasing the game on Steam. In fact, we purchased and started the setup for the release though they have a number of requirements that each game must fulfill in order to be cleared for release. I haven't been able to consistently work on fulfilling those requirements due to lack of free time (work schedule, personal stuff, etc).
Short summary: - without an entity it's harder to do business - lack of staffing on every front - some of us are just way too busy in life to deal with these things - limited platforms that are compatible
