the 'help' section is for powder toy related things, use general.

Also stop posting in random threads or making new ones asking the same thing, keep it here.

    Are you in America?
because what costs $1000 in America, generally costs $2000 Here (Australia).
That is painfull because our dollar is equal to or slightly higher in value then the American dollar.
Mine at the moment (laptop) has: 2x 2.2Ghz dual core processor. 4 Gb of ram. 454 Gb hard drive.
when I got it 1.5 years ago, it cost $1800, now $500

Just think about the maximum cost you can afford, then find the best computer with that money.

If you're willing to pay a bit extra for a mac, i would definitely suggest either this: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook?mco=MTM3NjU3MDM

    or this:
    http://store.apple.com/us/configure/MC700LL/A?mco=MjEyOTY3NTg

financing is available with both, and macs dont have to worry about malware at all (almost) one of the many perks.

EDIT: oh wow, dont post your question in so many threads.

That's odd... lol, he can't respond now.
I have a pc... well I have three (2 laptops 1 desktop, the desktop is 8 years old, but even my 3 year old laptop can't out do it.) but I prefer mac. (I have one of those too). that sums up about 8years of my life, ...computers. The bad thing about windows and the computers they run on is that you spend more money fixing them then you do buying them.

If a piece of hardware (computer) breaks, how does learning to program help?
