    Boxmein was saying freenode as a proper noun. All names are proper nouns. All proper nouns start with the first letter capital.

    As the others stated, It's qwebIRC. QwebIRC is an open source(means anyone can see the code) IRC connector.
    In short - Anyone can use it for them selves for free. It basically is an easy way out of programming an IRC client your self.

    So that site is using QwebIRC and so is Freenode. But the IRC server they're connecting to is different.
