TF2 update goes at slime speed

    I've just got TF2 (free edition) and each time I open it it tells me it needs to update. No matter how much I wait it doesn't even move. Any of you know why?

    TF2 is slow update... Don't matter what you do.. I deleted local content and went from 1mb/s to 1.5mb/s... i have a 16mb/s download speed (on average).

    I'm just saying the ETA never goes at less then 2 hours. It went near it but now it's at 3 hours. I'll just have to wait 3 hours and see.

    Just leave it alone. Don't bother doing anything cause you'll just interrupt it, making it longer.

    I left it for a few hours earlier, I told all my family members to leave the PC alone, but I think someone accidentally closed it.

    Edit: I found out why it doesn't progress: Auto standby. Any idea how to shut it down?

    Nevermind, it's done, the game's starting, wish me luck and no errors! :3
    Great, now it says me the steam server is too occupied at the moment, and to try again later.
