Lavice

It doesn't have its own actual official name, but I've called it lavice. It is created by using this console command "!set ctype ice lava" when you have some ice on the screen. It behaves in such a unique way, it is almost like an element of its own. I've submitted a save containing this strange substance.

We know. It is weird because it rapidly freezes and melts.

Wow, quite odd behaviour. Should've thought of that ages ago, since lava can take on many, in fact all ctypes, and will solidify into them. Same goes for Ice, only it melts into stuff. But now Ice as a ctype? Odd behaviour.

It makes a little bit of sense though. The code has lots of phase transitions coded in that depend on temperature. If lava uses its ctype to determine when it cools into something, and ice uses its old ctype to determine what it melts into, then this odd loop makes perfect sense.

I found that Lavice has the power to freeze other water due to its cold temperature, but things that burn not only in response to temperature (ans also ones that don't even burn in response to temperature alone) but are flame sensitive they will burn on concact with lavice. Despite its cold temperature when in lavaice, lava element is a flame type element (just like fire and plasma) and will ignite anything sensitive to flame even if not sensitive to heat. Imagine pouring -28degC lavice onto wood and having it catch fire. LOL

Also, I found that it must start as ice though and set the ctype to lava. If I set lava with ctype to ice it doesn't work. In fact If I set lava to anything such as DEUT or WOOD, it still freezes into stone. I used to be able to set ctype of lava and have it freeze into that upon cooling, and I don't know at what point it changed, but at least in the current version you can't change the freezing type of lava. You have to melt something into lava for it to truly be able to freeze lava into something other than stone.

Also I can save in a stamp etc, the ctype of lava, but not the ctype of ice. This resulted in it being tricky to make the save I posted. First I used "!set ctype ice lava" and did "f" to go frame by frame untill most of the ice had entered the lava phase (which will hold its ctype in a save) but had not yet refrozen back into ice (which doesn't hold its ctype in a save). Then I used the command "!set type ice none" to remove the remaining ice. After that, I simply uploaded the save.
