Filters that actually filter

The current filters for photons are useless as filters. At least call them "colorers" or something. Real color filters don't change a photon's color but block all other photons wich aren't the right color. If we had a filter that blocks photons that aren't of a certain color; it would be very useful. Applications for this include much much more compact and efficient spectrometers and various other spectrum-related machines

I'm pretty certain one of the modes of filter does this. Just change the tmp... This also should go under feedback, development is normally for mods.

You can change the function of FILT by altering the tmp variable using the PROP tool or console:
    See the wiki for info:

Actually there are 2 modes but is missing a 3rd mode that WOULD be realistic.

There is the "colorer" mode that colors any photon.
There is the filter mode that passes all colors EXCEPT the desired color (useless filter).

Then there is what a filter SHOULD be (what they are in real life), and that would be a filter that only passes photons of ONE SPECIFIC COLOR. Currently NO VALUE OF TMP produces this effect.

FILT with tmp 1 behaves as you just described.

I support the idea, photons should change colors, but somewhat split, so only certain ones pass.
Also, "there's a mod for that" is not a good answer.
