It copies an image from a 64x64 bizarre canvas to a 64x64 brick copy. It takes an entire row out, dyes a row of brick, then reassembles the picture and assembles the copy. Each row is pretty fast considering the piston has to pull back more than 64 times per row, but because there are 64 rows it takes a few minutes to complete the whole picture. The piston race is just there to show two ways to make pistons faster. A piston that moves at 1 frame/push is most likely perfectly possible, but the fastest here is 2 frames/push.
